Rowany Golf Course

Established in 1895, Rowany Golf Club is situated in Port Erin, on the South-Western corner of the Isle of Man.

The course was laid out by George Lowe who has a series of classic courses to his name. Royal Lytham St Annes being his most well known work.

The 18-hole course is a 5774 yards long par 70 from the white tees, and provides a challenging test to all golfers. It has six par fours, two par threes and an uphill par five fifth hole on the front nine. A demanding mixture with varied terrain.

Coming to the back-nine, the tenth – par 5 – and eleventh holes provide a major test for golfers of all abilities, especially when the wind is against – and they both have adjacent out-of-bounds to contend with. The twelfth is a very demanding uphill par four where golfers must negotiate bracken and gorse on both sides of the fairway. And the sixteenth, uphill to a tiered green, is rated as one of the best par-3s on the Island.

The final hole provides one of the most spectacular views anywhere in golf. When you leave the tee, and walk up the slight incline to the crest of the hill, there before you lies Port Erin Bay with the Irish Sea beyond – where on a clear day you will be able to see the Mountains of Mourne.

Fabulous!

Then comes the Clubhouse where you will receive a very warm welcome from Peter & Maria who can also provide you with excellent food and an array of beverages.

For visitors and societies, the relatively inexpensive green fees allow you to have a challenging but rewarding golf experience, while enjoying the beauty of the location and the fresh sea air.

Isle of Man Golf Holidays say ‘The back nine has some real testers, the par three 16th with its triple tiered green is one of the best on the Island. It’s always a friendly and hospitable clubhouse with Pete and Maria looking after your needs.’
